The primary your inner person develops and grows into Christlikeness, becoming strong, is by prayer. And it is not by ‘save us, we perish prayers.’ It is by ‘make us equal to the task, increase our strength’ prayers. It is by increasing awareness and dependence on the Holy Spirit. It is by the capacity to see beyond the natural, and into the realm of the unseen (2 Cor. 4:18). It is learning to allow Christ to ‘dwell’ in our hearts. This is the notion of congruence, of making the Lord, by the Spirit, at home in us; and of living in unbroken fellowship with Him. This is not prayer as an exercise or episode, this is living in a spirit of prayer.
