Sin is defined in our culture almost exclusively as moral violations of God’s holy principles. Lucifer, arguably the number one sinner of all eternity, did not plunge to his depths by first violating the moral order of God. He violated the relational order of God. Unity is not merely a nice thing. It is at the very heart of our Triune God. Church splits, for the noble purpose of beginning a new church, separations and divisions, a lack of genuine agape love and forgiveness–are all major weapons being effectively used by the Evil One in his spiritual warfare against the Church. We are in sin. We are divided and we keep dividing.
